Introduction

(Please see the English navigation menu at the bottom of our site to access translated versions of our pages)

In the Vision, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the University of Guanajuato, we conduct research on mobile robots, pattern recognition in images, robotic perception, computational intelligence, among other topics.

LaViRIA is located on the premises of the Salamanca Campus, in the Palo Blanco Community. Due to the thematic focus of the work carried out, the Laboratory is associated with the Bachelor’s programs in Communications and Electronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering, as well as the Master’s program in Electrical Engineering (option in Instrumentation and Digital Systems), and the Doctorate in Electrical Engineering. Multimedia and augmented and virtual reality applications are also explored with students from the Bachelor’s program in Digital Art.

  • LaViRIA is an environment for research and knowledge generation, dedicated to the study and application of technologies for the creation of intelligent systems that help solve problems.
  • Human resources training is carried out in LaViRIA, coming from the educational programs of the University of Guanajuato. These individuals contribute to improving our society through their knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes.
  • LaViRIA has computer equipment, digital cameras, and robots that are used for research in the laboratory’s areas of interest: Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Mobile Robotics.
